Chatterbox Cafe

In a recent blog post about Farmer's Almanac I declared my love for Prairie Home Companion (I know - all the cool stuff in one post!) One of my favorite times on the show is when Garrison Keillor discusses the latest goings on at the Chatterbox Cafe. So - it only seemed fitting that as F launches into babble-dom, I use that title for this post.

The Babbler - disguised as a pirate -
saying something important, for sure!
Back in January I reported that F was using lots of sounds. Well - those sounds are turning into words and I feel like sentences are just around the corner. Right now, a sampling of words include:

  • Dog
  • Ball
  • Daddy
  • Mommy (finally!)
  • Victor (my mom's dog)
  • Bird
  • Moo
  • Moon
  • Frog
  • Banana
  • Keys
  • No! (this is not a family favorite...)
  • Tree
  • Plane
  • Puppy (this one is new!)
We're totally living in the Chatterbox Cafe, as F babbles pretty much all the time. His teacher told me today how much she enjoys that he'll babble away and if you say, "What was that, F?" he'll repeat the same thing right back. What a smart boy. Probably the smartest one ever born. And the cutest. Of course. I love my little man!
