Yelp

The picture from my Yelp profile.
It's from the day I got engaged, back in 2006!
Old school...
It's been a long while since I was an "Elite Yelper" - two years, to be exact. Yelp marks kind of my first foray into social media (I was getting into Facebook at the same time, but Yelp was my "baby") and given that a number of my clients at the time had a food focus it made a lot of sense to become proficient professionally and I just really liked it personally.

Like I said - two years is a long time and a lot has changed, and I haven't been able to give Yelp the attention I used to. However, I notice that when we're away from home I rely a lot on Yelp for everything from finding restaurants to grocery stores and usually my fellow Yelpers don't lead me astray - but that wasn't the case in Silverton when we were looking for a quick bite to eat. Yuck - the pizza we had was on par with the cheapest frozen pizza at best.

So I've been inspired to jump back in with some new Yelp reviews of my own in a hopes to right some wrongs and shout from the rooftops when I find something I love. A few minutes spent after an experience can hopefully send the next guy in the right direction. If you Yelp, would love to see some of your reviews!

  1. So funny...my girlfriends and I spent a good 10 minutes at dinner talking about Yelp tonight. I really do love it, but it is the forgotten stepchild after Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare and my blog.
